Advantages: Very cool, easy to install Disadvantages: copper on the cpu side far from mirror ( needs a polish )
Test system:
processor - AMD Athlon FX62 (2 x 2800 MHz / 125W TDP)
motherboard - ASUS M2N32 DeLuxe Wireles Edition (passive cooling system with HeatPipe)
Cooler is very easy to install just one lever.
More experienced users will probably remove thermal compound and polish the surface of the cooler ( it is far from being a mirror ) and then apply high quality thermal compound.
This will give You another 1-2 C less and faster cooling down after stress.
all tests were done using Zalman STG 1 ( high quality thermal compound )

Advantages: Quick way of expanding hard drive space or retrieving data from a damaged laptop. Disadvantages: Can over heat if left on for serveral hours at a time.
The Akasa Integral external storage enclosure, is a great device for individuals who wish to perhaps expand there laptop with more hard disc drive space, or perhaps for those who wish to retrieve the data from a damaged laptop, that still has a working hard drive.
I found the device incredibly handy when my laptop crashed, and I had no way of accessing the data. All I did was remove the hard drive from the laptop and insert it into the storage enclosure device, and away I went, full access again to all my data, just by plugging it into another desktop or laptop. There?s no complicated software to install on the computer, just plug it In and you can access the data as if it was on a flash drive.
There are no mains plugs involved, it use's a USB port from the desktop or laptop to power its self, and it also comes with a protective ...
Advantages: Near silent operation, very light weight Disadvantages: £40 price tag, looks ugly
's such as I do, but I was striving for less noise more than looks, so decided to follow the advice.
Installation:
This was a breeze for my AMD Socket AM2 board. There is an adapter for Intel also, but I cannot comment on this as it was unused.
One thing worthy of note: If you are replacing a heatsink, you will need to buy a cleaner such as Akasa TIM £5 from PC World to get all the thermal paste from your CPU and make it spotless. Even a thumb print will reduce the effectiveness of heat conductivity, and you can't use any old cleaner for this purpose.
The verdict:
I am still breaking in silver compound that sits between the heatsink and the CPU, and am told after 200+ hours of computing this will further reduce the temperature by 2-5c. This in mind, the CPU remains below 40c and is kept there using ASUS Q-fan. The difference with my ...
The lo-noise AK-965 utilizes U-shape heatpipes technology for rapid and even heat transfer. A copper base is used for maximum heat absorption; three precision embedded copper heatpipes ensure hi-speed heat transfer and 45 aluminum fine fins for ultimate heat dissipation. INTEL approved power management (PWM) lo-noise 92mm round frame fan provides efficient and quiet cooling. Intel reference push-pin retention is used for safe and easy attachment. The specific fan positioning enhances the VRM cooling (VRM - CPU Voltage Regulator Modules located on the motherboard). Thermal compound is pre-applied.The AK-965 can be assembled horizontally or vertically as the heatpipes work independently of installation direction.
