...******************Intro***************************** You know that when you move house something is going to go wrong, on this occasion everything looked great until I went to switch the hub of my life on, POP! There went the power supply, motherboard and processor! Oh Joy! Anyway my planned PC project was moved forward a few months. I spent all of Christmas and some part of the New Year researching the components and selecting the best mix. As I was changing my motherboard and power supply I needed a new case the Akasa Mirage-62 looked like a really good choice even though the price was a little high. I paid around £100 for this case from www.scan.co.uk If you want a cheaper alternative the Akasa Eclipse-62 is around £20 cheaper and basically the same case but with a different front bezel styling. Advantages: Neat, Cool LED Mini USB Cable supplied

...(provided). I like way is designed. There is a button on the top that releases a tray where the HDD is fixed. Even though the button is fiddly to press (ie not embossed) but I supposed this is done to prevent pressing it by mistake. It also comes with two cables. A PC modder friendly silver miniUSB cable with flashing blue LEDs and also a small USB to 5V power supply in case the USB doesn't deliver enough power. On my HDD it does but apparently there are others that need that cable. Now apart from the fact that the cable is about 5 inches long and impossible to plug it on your PC and have the HDD on the desk according to the manual (for what I understood anyway) this might not even work and you would need an indoor AC/DC adapter. Advantages: Compatible with newer 24pin motherboards and EPS12v Server boards, High wattage, Silent fan operation

...Upon upgrading my computer to an athlon MP system, i thought it would be a good idea to change my power supply for something a bit more powerful. When i looked up the specifications for this power supply at antec`s website, there was nothing i could fault. Looking into it further, i found that i would need a 24pin to 20pin adapter to use this on my motherboard. The handy thing is that although this isnt an ATX2.0 power supply, the 24pin pinout for the EPS12v ATX connector is 100% identical to the ATX2.0 24pin pinout. Another reason why i decided on this powersupply (so when i upgrade to dual opterons - this powersupply will be ample and will already provide the correct connectors). You can always tell the quality of a power supply by its weight, and these ones are heavy! Comparing it to my old Q-tec 400w power supply you would think... Read review
