Heat sinks for those of you who don't know use air flow and heat conduction to take heat away from the CPU in the PC to prevent it overheating. Basic specs:
The Alaska Silver Mountain is a silver plated copper heatsink designed for Socket A Athlon CPU's. I bought mine because of a recommendation from a fellow techy who believed it was the best Heat Sink he'd ever worked with.
Basic specs:
Supports AMD Athlon XP 3200+; Pure Copper Heatsink with ... ...4, 600 R.P.M.; Fan Air Flow 23 CFM; Fan Noise 33 dB(A); DIM 72 X 60 X 65 mm. I got mine for £25 which is steep when £7 can buy an adequate heat sink. I don't really know what made me pay that much as I wasn't interested in clocking up the CPU I had (which requires a good heat sink). The heat sink kept my CPU XP1900 below 30c consistently.
