Advantages: excellent torque and performance and excellent chassis
Disadvantages: riding position can be a strain after a fir bit of miles on a trip

In fact my dad rides a Suzuki GSXR-1000 K2 and he went out and bought an Akrapovic straight after he heard the difference between the stock exhaust on mine and then the aftermarket Akrapovic exhaust... Since I have bought my Kawasaki I have added a steering dampener, braided front back brake lines, Akrapovic Exhaust, smaller number plate and smaller indicators. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this bike and feel I definatly made the right choice over all the other 600 on the market. ...The fireblade back in the early 90's was a light ,peaky,mentally fastmonster of a bikethat rocked all the big bikes at the time.It took years for the likes of yamaha to respond to the challenge,but respond they did in the shape of the R1,but the fireblade 900rr in the year 2000 is on the attack again,although this still can not quite top the R1 for speed,overall is a far better bike ,as even Yamaha have admitted the R1 is hard work to stop it flipping you on your back. If you want a mentally fast bike but you want to be comfortable that you are going to stay on it when you fly of those lights get the new blade. If you are a real nutter the R1 is yours.... Advantages: The build quality and speed.

...I have recently bought a Honda Fireblade and it is as good as they say.I used to have a GSXR750 but always wanted a 'Blade'.I had a look around at a few examples and settled for a 1995 model in the black and burgundy colours.It is a bike that when ridden will have you smiling even in the rain and cold.The sheer speed of it is amazing,it turns heads and easily cruises at 100mph plus.I'm not going to say how fast I have been on mine but you have to be careful of speed cameras.The ride position is very good and the miles fly by you would need to drain the tank of petrol and refil it before the numb bum point is reached.I should add that I get roughly a hundred and twenty miles from a tank without hitting the reserve.I put in about seven pounds worth of petrol to get this.I'm told that the newer models can manage a little more on a tank...
