Akrapovic Bolt-on / Slip-on line Open Exhaust - Honda CB 900 F Hornet

Advantages: excellent torque and performance and excellent chassis
Disadvantages: riding position can be a strain after a fir bit of miles on a trip

In fact my dad rides a Suzuki GSXR-1000 K2 and he went out and bought an Akrapovic straight after he heard the difference between the stock exhaust on mine and then the aftermarket Akrapovic exhaust... Since I have bought my Kawasaki I have added a steering dampener, braided front back brake lines, Akrapovic Exhaust, smaller number plate and smaller indicators. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this bike and feel I definatly made the right choice over all the other 600 on the market. Advantages: Great VFM new or used, heaps of performance
Disadvantages: Small poxy fuel tank, soft front end, clunky gearbox

...: The first thing replaced was the standard exhaust end can (too quiet, too heavy), which we replaced with a Scorpion Oval race can in stainless steel. No re-jetting was required on the dyno test and I gained 3-4 bhp at the rear wheel. Next to go were the indicators, which were exchanged for much smaller items in carbon effect plastic. Goodrich braided steel brake lines have replaced the standard rubber front items and have helped to improve the power and feel of the front brakes. The standard handlebars were replaced by Renthal "drag bike" bars which are 2" lower and 2" wider than standard which helps keep more weight over the front wheel, which in turn improves the handling at speed. Crash protectors as used by racers in the Hornet Cup are fitted to guard the engine, just in case we ever get it wrong. The last item to be fitted... Read review

Advantages: Good fun, easy to ride, old memories

...Riden bikes since 17 now 57. Five years ago had a medical problem had to retire went into business iwth wife. Bikes - had to stop riding lack of strength in legs siold all thre bikes kept CB900F in back of garage hidden from wife - still to heavy. Saw a GL 400 import fro sale owned and loved a CX500 18 years ago roade all over France two up. Brought GL 400 and found I can ride it. Love riding it do not care what the world thinks of my bike I am back on the road. Ok not fast but feels like my old bike happy days may have it made up to a 500cc this winter must talk to someone about that. But it can not be beaten for me.... Read review
