Advantages: excellent torque and performance and excellent chassis
Disadvantages: riding position can be a strain after a fir bit of miles on a trip

In fact my dad rides a Suzuki GSXR-1000 K2 and he went out and bought an Akrapovic straight after he heard the difference between the stock exhaust on mine and then the aftermarket Akrapovic exhaust... Since I have bought my Kawasaki I have added a steering dampener, braided front back brake lines, Akrapovic Exhaust, smaller number plate and smaller indicators. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this bike and feel I definatly made the right choice over all the other 600 on the market. ...The 2000 Honda SP-1 is THE perfect bike! It handles superbly, looks fantastic and performs like a dream. What other bike has performed so well in the World Superbikes in its very first season? I first rode one in March 2000 and, from the moment I sat on it, it felt perfect - it responds well to my riding style (which is by no means perfect I'm sure). And the new, electronic dashboard!? Well, it looks like something out of Star Trek - perfect for a gadget man like myself. Overall, it has got to be the best looking, best handling bike I've had the pleasure of riding. ...I used to own a Honda VTR1000. It was a great bike. People with ducatis sneared at it and say that it is too soft and forgiving. But I have ridden a lot of bikes and none have beaten this one for fear inducing acceleration. Too be honest, I got a little scared to ride it, because as soon as I pulled away I change from the mild mannered Internet bore into a public annoyance. I sold it recently, as the engine revved into the distance I could almost feel my heart shattering into a thousand pieces. It was a great machine. Also it was extremely reliable, never a single problem the entire time I had it! Anyway, I would love to hear from any like minded VTR fans out there. There are some pics on my site and some interesting stats which shut up the duke owners. I recommend this bike.... Read review
