Advantages: excellent torque and performance and excellent chassis
Disadvantages: riding position can be a strain after a fir bit of miles on a trip

...I have owned my 636 since it first came out. I have found the sharp response of the chassis when cornering to be close to perfect. I have ridden an R6 and also ridden with R6's on rideouts and I would say the 636 (2003 model to present) has the edge on corners. I would say the R6 wins on comfort (easier forgiving seat) and also riding position. I did feel the strain after around 70 - 100 miles on the bike on some trips. That however is due to the race nature of the bike. The riding position is one of which was designed more for a racetrack. I have many good rideouts on my 6r and find that when I let a rideout 'friend' take the bike for a spin; they always come back with a smiling face and praise the bike then-on. I have attached a 'slip-on' Akrapovic aftermarket exhaust on it now and the sound is one which will make you speechless... Read review

...My YZ 426 F Was just fun all the way brought second hand for a good price and in near mint condition it gave me 2 years mechinical trouble free racing joy. The four stroke engine was a bit fierce to begin with but with a bit of tweeking (weighted fly wheel) it smoothed out a treat. Comming from a two stroke back ground I found this bike gave me a real easy ride. It has so much low end grunt i could put it in third gear for most tracks and only have to change up or down one gear a couple of times a lap. It handled all terreins better than i could, but it really shone when the ground was so boggy most two stroke riders were getting stuck this little beauty just pulled through it. Down side was the bike was better than me I couldnt ride it to its full potential but enjoyed every second of it all the same.... Read review

...I love my kx100. I am a fairly new rider with currently 3 years under my belt. Mostly a week end warrior though ( love to change that though) I am a small framed woman (38yrs and 115lb) and this is my fourth bike. This one suits me best. I started on a xr 100 (honda) and very quickly took over my husbands bike (xr200). That was the plan when we purchased them that I would "grow as a rider into his bike" My next (3rd) bike was a yz250f .... quite a jump and I LOVED THE POWER. Unfortunatley the bike was just too big (even after having it lowered) and way too heavy for me for when I did drop it. The kx100 has been the best fit though I did find it quite the challenge to keep the poor little thing reving to the point of punisment to get up some of those hills that the big ol 4 stroke just ate up.
