Akrapovic Bolt-on / Slip-on line Street Legal Exhaust - Suzuki SV 1000

Advantages: excellent torque and performance and excellent chassis
Disadvantages: riding position can be a strain after a fir bit of miles on a trip

In fact my dad rides a Suzuki GSXR-1000 K2 and he went out and bought an Akrapovic straight after he heard the difference between the stock exhaust on mine and then the aftermarket Akrapovic exhaust... Since I have bought my Kawasaki I have added a steering dampener, braided front back brake lines, Akrapovic Exhaust, smaller number plate and smaller indicators. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this bike and feel I definatly made the right choice over all the other 600 on the market. Advantages: Fast and Furious meets MR smoothie

...a matching rear hugger to keep the suspension spring and swinging arm clean to cut down on the cleaning later on. Suzuki do a lot of aftermarket spares for the bike but the prices are a little more expensive than other suppliers.It really does dont depend on whether you want genuine parts or patented parts and that depends on finances. The Suzuki SV650 has been likened to the TL1000 so that is not a bad thing.Personally i think it is a CBR600 meets Fazer meets TL1000. Overall the bike is great for those who want a first REAL bike after passing their test or those of us who want a bike that we can use.Whatever your requirements the SV650 will meet them. Advantages: Brilliant first / budget bike, sporty all rounder, mid-range grunt, cheap
Disadvantages: Budget suspension, budget feel

...recommend you fit braided stainless hoses to the front brakes to sharpen up the brakes, leave the rear as is or replace with standard suzuki rubber hoses, or it will be too sharp. Locking rear tyre happens too easily otherwise. Also clean front pistons regularly to keep the braking performance good. Exhaust Everyone loves the sound of a v-twin, and this is one stock exhaust, which doesn’t shout about its self. I guess it’s a matter of choice, but if you are going to get a fruitier exhaust, can I suggest you buy a road legal one, not because of the plod, but just because an SV with an aftermarket race can is VERY VERY LOUD INDEED!!!!!!! I had a road legal one for a bit (Quill Powerflow, which was a poor fitting exhaust, but made a great sound), and a carbon can co Race can which was too loud for me and scared me into not using...
