Get off road

Advantages: Light,Electric start, dual sport.
Disadvantages: none.

Having a liking to a little off-road riding and needing a set of wheels as the wife is using the car for work, I decided to combine the two and purchase a Suzuki DR-Z 400s, Suzuki’s new Dual sport 4-stroke. I have now had this for two weeks and must say what a pleasure it is to ride, both off and on the road. It is not to heavy at approx. 140kgs with a tank full of fuel. Which means I can still throw it around a bit, and pick it up with ease should I happen to put it down, which I do occasionally, and even though I have put this bike down a few times. I have yet to do any damage to it, proving that it is nice and durable. Now for some technical bits. The engine is a single cylinder 4 stroke that is liquid cooled. It is started via an electric starter, so no more kick starting and decompression levers here. It has a five ...

Owners review of the much loved Suzuki GS500e

Advantages: Reliable, cheap, does exactly what it says on the tin! and has masses of fun!
Disadvantages: uncomfortable long distance touring for taller people!

This bike has been my angel on wheels over the past 10-11 months! it really is as good as people say, and more!!! i have had numerous people say to me that they are bullet proof, will do in excess of 60-80k miles, and mine hasnt once let me down! considering mine is a 95 N reg GS500e, it is in excellent condition, and for around £1000 you get a whole lot of reliability and masses of fun!!! it corners like a dream! left knee down to right knee down in milliseconds! and the best thing is its an ideal sportsbike trainer and pre 21yrs old sports bike if it is restricted to 33bhp (for about £100)!!! i have the unrestricted 50bhp version, bought it with 24k miles on the clock, and N reg... for £1000 exactly.... it was advertised for £1200... but with a bit of cheek i had this reduced.... and i have never ever regretted the buy ever! and i ...

Review of Suzuki GS500E

Suzuki Eiger 400 Manual

Advantages: Power, Gearbox, Suspension, Looks
Disadvantages: None

Suzuki are a name which have been long associated with quad bikes building reliable quality bikes at a reasonable price. This model is their best yet its the daddy of all quad's. Its got power and lots of it. Its seems to laugh in the face of a steep incline and a fully loaded trailer still fails to slow your progress. However if its speed you want this bike has it to. The gearbox is the best in the business. Giving plenty of gears for every possible job from slow to wind in your face fast. The switchable 4 wheel drive helps conserve fuel and tires when 4 WD is not needed. Plus this bike has excellent breaks that will be sure to stop you when you need to. Also worth a mention are the headlights which are bright and have dip and main beam functions. Giving the bike a feeling of quality. Handy carry racks on the front and rear of the bike ...
