Advantages: bigger bike looks and comfy riding even at high speeds Disadvantages: it has a high seating position.
Yamaha have really out done them selves on this on. With its slick curves, high tail end and its mean, aggressive looks which have been passed down from its big brothers the r6 and r1. Dont be fooled by the 125cc 4-stroke engine. It may be small by size but it can still pack a punch! The yamaha enginers have cleverly crafted and tuned these engines using the latest technology to sustain there excellent reputation in the motorcycle world. The R-125 not only has great engine power but it also has awesum handling, comfy riding position and just feels like your riding a bigger bike. Although i love this bike, it is not designed for the smaller people in mind. But not to worry, if your hearts content on having this dream bike you can buy lowering kits for a reasonable price from your local dealer. I personally can not fault this bike, it has ...

Advantages: Its light, it goes, it stops, it looks great and it scores an A+ in all these categories!! Disadvantages: Its total race position, so if you want to do a lot of miles, you're gonna get wrist ache, and they dont like to go slow either!!
My first encounter with the Yamaha was back in 2001, when i took one out for a test ride from our local shop. It was V registered, red and awesomely fast. Unfortunately it was also £6000, so i was totally outpriced and went off home with my tail between my legs and a persistant niggle in the back of my brain telling me to sell those kidneys and get that bike! I bought a cheap 1984 GPz900r and ran it till it died then went on to a 1996 ZX9R. it was lovely, incredibly fast but very heavy and difficult for me to move around. The R6 never left my system and found the hankering was getting too much to bear so after re MOT-ing my zx9r having only done 250 miles on it since the previous one i decided that now was definitely the time for change. Off i went down the bike shop, and there it was. The most fantastic blue (thats the most important ...

Advantages: Fast, furious, handles great, accelerates great, stops brilliantly, looks wicked. Cheap insurance Disadvantages: Ugly end can. That's it.
people on 750's, 'blades, R1's and Gixers (Not a 'pub boast' - I have video to back this up....) The R6 feels completely planted in the corners. It is supremely easy to get your knee down and the riding position screams for you to ride aggressively. I find the bike to be a bit uncomfortable after a few hours riding but it wasn't built to tour, it was built to race - can you say 15,500rpm redline? Admittedly it can chew tyres pretty quickly if you thrash it and the standard D207's are not that cheap but who said biking was easy on the pocket?
The brakes are super, (stoppies are easy) and I'm told it wheeiles okay too although I'm still getting around to lOkayearning those.....
The R6 looks great, (even better when you take the mirrors off!), it handles brilliantly and the acceleration is like being strapped to a missile! The only niggle I ...
