Advantages: space saving Disadvantages: sound and picture quality
...Myself and my fiancee where looking for a small screen lcd tv for our bedroom to save a little space and jazz the room up a little, i came across a few at our local mackro store after looking on the net for one.
There where three to choose from but this Akura at £110+vat was the cheapest but looked the most stylish of the lot but i didnt see it working, how i wished i had. We got it home and set it up turned it on and tuned it on, all this was very easy and simple to do and the instructions if you need to follow them are all easy to read and follow..
When we had set it all up we turned it on and the first thing that struck us was the picture quality, it was, to put it bluntly bad, and then the sound quality, well if you put your telly in a big tin then you will get some idea as to what it sounds like, we tried messing...

Advantages: High Speed Dubbing Disadvantages: Unable to Dubb from Hdd to DVD other than @ the quality originally recorded.
...the SPLIT)facility where when you use the SELECT key a screen warning appears to let you know where you wish it to act upon the recording.There is however a dark marker that appears on the progress bar which appears onscreen during edit & playback (stays in view for approx 10 seconds or so).
In all for my first venture into a HDD/DVD recorder I find the unit to be quite easy to get on with but the helpline staff on 01422 203676 could be a bit better informed & the handbook a bit more explicit in some areas.
As with all remote controls the print could have been larger not having 20/20 vision & why don,t manufacturers make them backlit .Nobody watches DVD,s in a brightly lit room ,Do They?...

Advantages: Good value, a fair few features Disadvantages: Some people may require more features, not the best on the market

▲ Initial Tuning ▲
When I bought the TV/DVD it was very simple to tune in. It took me a mere 15 minutes and by that time I had all my channels tuned and my DVD raring to go. Tuning was simple, you simply chose “search” from the menu and then you had three choices – you either chose Auto Search (which tuned in any channel it finds onto one channel number. This is the quickest solution, but what it doesn’t always do is put BBC1 on 1, and ITV1 on 3 and so on.) The second was Fine Tune (which found the channels for you on certain channel numbers and you decided to save it or not. Finally, there was Search (which allowed you to search yourself which can take forever...
