Akura ASW 8411

...I would consider myself, at best, an amatuer reviewer. I recently received my ASW610. Because of stock issues, I first used a ASW600 subbie and this was replaced by the ASW610. I have wooden floors in a 25m2 room, so perhaps I do not get the full benefit of the speaker. Comparing the 2 subbies, I find the ASW610 as good, if not better than the ASW600. It might be smaller, but it performs better. I only set the volume at about 50% which significantly adds to the movie and music expeirence. The subbie gets on with business wihtout overpowering the other components. From a space point of view, it is unsightly and out of the way. I use a Sony STR DA3200 AV receiver with a Denon 1930, B&W 684, HTM62 & LM1 surround speakers. Overall a very good combination.... Read review

...i bought this sub on 23.9.07 after demoing it at practical hifi in manchester. i tested against the rel r305. the asw700 blew it away. the rel was polite compared to the nuclear blast from the b& w.. the asw700 add depth and substance to music and home cinema. i listen to all audio at lower levels( at -35db) since i added this daddy sub--the full audio spectrum is now available to me at low listening levels.the 10 inch paper/kevlar cone with a 500w amp encased in a braced totally airtight cabinet produces very low frequency rumbles that vibrate your room like an earthquake or produce tight bass for music- you decide.the manual states 17hz at -6db- THEY ARE RIGHT. THIS IS A MUST HAVE AMP FOR ALL SEASONS. i cannot fault it. it is very easy to place and set up, i have it between my l & r speakers.... Read review

Advantages: space saving

...Myself and my fiancee where looking for a small screen lcd tv for our bedroom to save a little space and jazz the room up a little, i came across a few at our local mackro store after looking on the net for one. There where three to choose from but this Akura at £110+vat was the cheapest but looked the most stylish of the lot but i didnt see it working, how i wished i had. We got it home and set it up turned it on and tuned it on, all this was very easy and simple to do and the instructions if you need to follow them are all easy to read and follow.. When we had set it all up we turned it on and the first thing that struck us was the picture quality, it was, to put it bluntly bad, and then the sound quality, well if you put your telly in a big tin then you will get some idea as to what it sounds like, we tried messing...
