...are the following connectors: Component Video Out x 3 jack (Red - Blue - Green) Composite Video Out x 1 jack S-Video Out x 1 Stereo Audio Out x 2 jack (Right - Left) Coaxial Digital Audio Out x 1 21 pin Scart Out x 1 I have connected all of these at some point and found they all perform well. As soon as I had the player connected and plugged in I switched the TV to the appropriate AV channel, pressed the ON/OFF button on the player and waited. Having no power light on the player meant I had to wait for the player's start screen to appear on the TV. This popped up after the few seconds it took the electronics to sort themselves out. The start screen is a deep blue background with Akura DVD stamped in the middle of it. That's it, no fuss, just here I am let's get on with it. ...lie in bed to watch it all i can see are funny coloured shadows so i have to keep changing the tilt of the screen. All in all i think this is probably the worst telly we could have bought and leaves me feeling a little conned by akura because the tv itself looks nice, it just does'nt perform when you press the power button, if i could i would have taken this back straight away, so i could exchange it for something else but i couldnt as it was a sale item. ---Good points:--- Price Looks ---Bad points:--- Picture quality Sound quality Annoying box on the power cable Reflection angle Not HD ready If you are looking for a smaller lcd tv then stick to the well known brands as i have found out CHEAPER ISNT ALWAYS BETTER..... Advantages: HDD/DVD/Timeslip recording, connections, clear menus, price
Disadvantages: Size, slowish start-up/preparation.

...time following the detailed instructions, switch on, TV to AV1 and bingo -there's the set up menu for the Akura. Followed the auto programme scan, found all the channels, did a quick TV channel reorganise via the VERY clear and user friendly on screen menus and within minutes was recording my first OTR timeslip recording. Once set up, it was a simple matter of replicating the second unit set up in the second room. INITIAL THOUGHTS & USE: Now the best bit of a newly set up toy or gadget : feet up on the sofa, pint of Guinness in one hand, remote in the other and instruction book in the other (three hands ?) play with the buttons and explore.
