Advantages: Quieter than most I have tried Disadvantages: none so far
...fractures, which allows access by micro-organisms and oxygen, and which will in turn accelerate the composting process. Giving the compost a turn from time to time completes the process and you will soon become the proud owner of one of nature’s greatest gifts.
The easiest way to shred or break up your garden material is by using a “shredder”. Once the domain of the professional gardener, manufacturers have designed much smaller machines for the average garden. The design of these has improved over the years, and there is now a selection of fine models on the market.
I am now onto my second shredder, the first having gone to that great compost heap in the sky after 10 years of faithful service. It was an AL-KO 1100S shredder and really deserved a review all to itself but as more modern machines have superseded it, and it is no longer...

Advantages: easy to use ,light Disadvantages: none
...I've owned the same Qualcast 35 for 13 years,by choice i probably
would not have bought that model but it was bought as a wedding present so it was out of my control.
I cant praise this mower highly enough for the service it has given to me.
Its a simple little cylinder mower ,powered by a 240 volt electric motor which powers the cutting cylinder via a toothed rubber belt and two plastic gears.A lightweight plastic roller at the rear enables reasonable quality striping.
The machine is easy to assemble just four small bolts and two clips to fit the handles and your ready to cut.
A light weight machine that could be used by anyone, simple in design with little to go wrong or break.
When my machine finally give's up i'll be having another one....

Qualcast 35S Review ofQualcast Classic Petrol 35S/43Sby

Advantages: Can have a scarifier attached Disadvantages: Poor build quality & design.
...The build quality of my Qualcast 35S is very poor. Within a few months of use the throttle control snapped and the front roller nut became loose and fell off (never to be found again). I have persevered with it but the latest problem is that the blades hit a tree stump and the main internal cog (made from plastic) has split in two & it needs repairing.
Apart from the poor build quality I would also say the design is not as effective as it could be. The front roller squashes the grass before it has a chance to get to the blades which leaves lots of uncut grass on the lawn.
The only positive thing I can say is that you can attach the scarifier although this again could be made a lot easier if they had provided quick release bolts for the side casing instead of 4 standard bolts that have to be unscrewed with an allen key.
Unfortunately...
