Review of Ebb's New Friend - Jane Simmons by carcraig

Advantages: Lovely story, great illustrations

...is expected. The fact that Flo and Ebb live on a boat can also spark discussions about how people do not always live in houses, but can live in less conventional accommodation. Our girls have also picked up on the fact that although all the geese seem to look the same, Ebb can tell that they are not "her" Bird. And, of course, the happy ending means everyone can go off to bed content! Review of Land of Green Ginger - Noel Langley by Kukana

Advantages: Lots of humour, great story
Disadvantages: Not 'politically correct', current edition abridged

In China. Awwwww... But did you ever wonder what happened 'after'? If so, then 'The Land of Green Ginger' is the book to read. It starts on the day after Aladdin's son and heir is born. The opening scene describes the Special Meeting of State which has been called in order that a name can be selected for the baby. It's clear right from the start that this isn't a book to be taken seriously; for one thing there are rather a lot of Extra Capital Letters scattered throughout the book, for another we... How Mixed Up Are You?
Review of Mixed Up Fairy Tales - Hilary Robinson by neenn

Advantages: Lots of fun!
Disadvantages: None

..., enabling the children to make up some very funny versions of their own, e.g. Goldilocks / was laughed at by the ducks / and was put in a cooking pot to be turned into / a grumpy giant. I hope you get the idea now and hopefully the photos that I will add will help. In short, it's a more complex version of the picture books that I had as a child where you could turn different sections over to create different outfits and characters. - The Characters - * Goldilocks * Jack * Little Red Hiding Hood * Ali Baba * The Ugly Duckling * CInderella * The 3 Billy Goats Gruff * Sleeping Beauty * The Enormous Turnip * Aladdin * Snow White * Puss in Boots So as you can see there is a host of options available to the children with genies, ogres, swans, princes, giants etc.. - Nick Sharratt & The Illustrations - Nick Sharratt is an award winning...
