Our girls have also picked up on the fact that although all the geese seem to look the same, Ebb can tell that they are not "her" Bird. Advantages: Lots of humour, great story Disadvantages: Not 'politically correct', current edition abridged
...You know the story of Aladdin, right? The classic fairy-tale, popularised in pantomimes and also by Disney. He has a wicked uncle, and a magic lamp which summons a genie... a complex story, with many variations, but in the end he marries the princess he loves despite being a commoner himself, and they all live happily ever after. But did you ever wonder what happened 'after'? If so, then 'The Land of Green Ginger' is the book to read. It starts on the day after Aladdin's son and heir is born. ..., enabling the children to make up some very funny versions of their own, e.g.
Goldilocks / was laughed at by the ducks / and was put in a cooking pot to be turned into / a grumpy giant.
I hope you get the idea now and hopefully the photos that I will add will help. In short, it's a more complex version of the picture books that I had as a child where you could turn different sections over to create different outfits and characters.
