...Cool, my suggestion was added. :) S'pose I should write something about EESOM then. East End School of Motoring is a driving school based in Dundee ran by Alan Lockhart. I have not received any lessons from Alan personally, I met him through helping him set up his web site. A couple of people I know who were instructed by him were very happy with his lessons - and they both passed first time! There are no prices on Alans site, nor did he disclose the prices to me. I believe his rates are reasonable though and he offers discounts to students, unemployed and for booking lessons in blocks. Alan has been driving and teaching other to drive for many years. Advantages: Cheap motoring, Cheaper VED (Road Tax)
Disadvantages: Time to convert it, lose a bit of luggage space

...I had Alan convert my wife's Xtrail and I was so impressed by the ease of use and the savings to be made that I then chose to convert my own car. That's 2 x £1600 and I consider it money well spent. Alan (owner of www.essexlpg.net) operates from premises on a working farm in Stambridge, Essex SS4 2BF. He does employ one mechanic but otherwise it's a very small operation. Though small he has been LPGA accredited and has all the necessary equipment such as an exhaust gas analyser. If you do go there remember it's his work that counts not posh showrooms. You leave your vehicle with him and pick it up usually a week later. He prefers to be paid by Cheque when you leave the car or Cash when you pick it up. Externally there are few clues to your new fuel source. Advantages: Good on economy

...for £60. I dont suppose I am telling you anything new if you like to buy second hand cars but I guess overall its down to a bit of luck as well as know how eh? If you look around there are loads of Ford Escorts still on the road so they must have done something right.....I think they keep up with the old Rovers which seem aplenty also.
