Advantages: Great Price, Lovely sound and picture and very reliable
Disadvantages: only comes in one colour (Silver)
...The "Alba 108" Is the perect present for anyone who is not looking to spend a bomb.
This Small, versatile bit of hardware has many useses being able to play not just DVD's but also Plays; VCD's , CD's, MP3's, Picture CD's and Jpeg files.
Alba 108 DVD player is also compatible with Dolby Digital, DTS and Kodak Picture CD's.
The Remote Controler for the Alba 108 is very compact and slimline wich gives it a good grip and makes it very lite.
I myself have a Alba 108 and have tryed other DVD players before but have found the Alba 108 to Best around for it's price.
I have found the Alba 108 to be so up to scratch that i conviced my parents to go and take back there DVD player that they had just brought to go and buy an Alba 108 For just £30 From are local superstore "Tesco's"....

Amazing Budget DVD Player
Review of Alba DVD 103 by
cascade
Advantages: Small price tag, decent quality sound and picture, Multi Region.
Disadvantages: Chucky styling and akward remote control.
...The Alba 103 DVD is brilliant value for money. This player has many of features which would only be previoulsy expected on players twice the price. The Alba 103 retails for around £150 from Toys R Us and Argos. The player has the ability to play multi region DVD's. This means the latest titles from America can be played before they are released in the UK, this is a major bonus, and especially on a machine this price. The Sound and Picture quality are good, but not up to the standard of some of the more expensive players, but it does the job. And for this price, who can complain!...

You get what you pay for.......
Review of Alba - Alba by
richyt
Advantages: Cheaper, affordable range of products
Disadvantages: Although cheaper, quality is lower
...I owned an Alba HiFi system a few years ago. From my personal experience it was the biggest mistake i made.
Although Alba provided a range of affordable products, it seemed to me that they had sacrificed quality.
The functions i can remember that the unit had were very limited, for example, no lcd display (no display at all) you could not switch via remote through cd cassette or radio, you could not program radio stations, only set 1. it did have a 3cd tray which was quite good for the money.
The unit was very very basic, and I had one main problem with it, which was a buzzing sound from the speakers during cd playback. I originally thought it was a manufacture fault, and sent it back for repair. Upon getting my HiFi back the problem was still there. I was told that the unit was functioning properly, and that the sound was 'normal...
