It's not often that i have opinions on haircare products but i have had to start using this stuff so i thought i would give it a go. This isn't going to be useful for too many people but this is the ideal stuff for holding your dreadlocks in. Once you have been through the agony of getting them done in the first place, and believe me, you don't know the meaning of pain until you've sat in a chair for 40 hours with someone pulling your hair, you really don't want them to untangle themselves so you wanna use wax to keep them together. The stuff you get for waxing surfboards is best although it tends to go very gunky on hot days so i would advise using VO5 styling wax. Just coat each dread with wax once or twice a fortnight and bob's yer uncle, they tighten up in no time and any loose strands of hair stop sticking out at odd angles. The wax is also absorbed into the hair fairly quickly so you don't wake up in the morning with your entire head covered on wax and loads of new spots growing.
I have tried loads of different types and have found that this stuff works the best even though it does tend to make your hair dry and brittle. I would also like to take issue with the smell of these products, why thay always insist on making styling wax smell of coconut is beyond me. Is this some kind of conspiracy going on? On what occassion would it be beneficial to make your hair smell of coconut?
I think i paid about £3.99 for a 150ml tub of this wax which seems like a fairly good deal to me compared to other brands i could mention. If you don't have dreadlocks then i assume this stuff works about as well as any other.
