I tried desperados for the first time when a friend brought me back a few as a present from a trip to germany and france. I instantly liked the drink and now by them when ever i see them. However being english the product is hard to come by. I live just outside of bath and have only found them in 'the pig and fiddle' bar in bath. However they are readily available in france and germany and when ever i travel in these areas i make sure to bring them ...
...Bath (not a city renound for high prices) the cost of a desperado is 3.50 (pound). The product is a pale beer flavoured with tecqualia, the taste is quite sweet and goes down very easily. It is alot different from its rival product 'Corona' which in comparison is alot more bitter. Advantages: Lovely and sweet without being sickly
Disadvantages: Could have more choices on flavour

I'm not a gin person but as this was the only alcopop with lime flavour that was left i bought it and was very pleasantly supprised. It's got a nice sharp flavour and unlike many alcopops it doesn't taste sickly sweet. There is enough lime to complement the gin without either being too overpowering. Another good thing is unlike vodka alcopops it doesn't make you feel like someone turned on the central heating and you can happily dance the night away ...

Advantages: fruity
Disadvantages: too easy to drink!

...that suited my needs. Quinns does that! It is indeed fruity, and whilst I was dubious about the 100% fruit claim, it certainly does taste so. It doesnt taste artificial or too sweet and sickly like a lot of drinks. It is definitely thirst quenching and it is almost impossible to taste the alcohol.
