ADATS are outdated technology by today's standards, but they're great workhorses and make excellent "front-ends" for recording to computer (with an appropriate interface). I use them for recording live bands/artists that require minimal editing. ADATS are outdated technology by today's standards, but they're great workhorses and make excellent "front-ends" for recording to computer (with an appropriate interface). I have used them for over a decade now with no major complaints. Minor niggles are simply the S-VHS tapes: whilst generally robust, a damaged one can cause problems so extra care is always in order and, as with any tape machine, head wear and cleaning is another consideration. I've had many years of service from mine, however, and will continue using them until it's no longer possible.
