Advantages: Superb sound reproduction, Build quality, Price, LOUD!
Disadvantages: None really... they are pretty heavy though

I bought these to use while practicing DJing, but to be honest they are the best all round method of "noise production" I have ever used. Superb as monitors with excellent sound quality, but just as good as powered speakers for small parties etc. I have had these for about a year now and have no complaints whatsoever. The build quality is second to none - one of them fell from a height of ~4 ft and other than a couple of scuffs there has been no noticeable degredation in sound quality. Also, they are *very* loud and can cope with pretty harsh bass for such a small driver. I usually listen to banging hard dance music which is pretty intense with the low frequencies, but these babies handle everything I throw at them. If you can afford them - buy them! You won't be disappointed. As good (if not better) than monitors worth £500+ ...

Hercules - DJ Console MK2 - Mixer and Soundcard

Advantages: Lot of fun, yet a serious device at the same time.
Disadvantages: Jog/Scratch wheel not placed in the best position on the device.

This is a great item for the amateur/semi pro DJ. Not just limited to mixing two MP3's, this unit also allows you to mix with a variety of sources such as turntables and CD players. This is because you can attach various external hardware to the device via the extra connections you have available, including optical and RCA. There are two sets of master outputs as standard, meaning you can output to two separate amplifiers as an example, or record with one output and then monitor your sound through the other. Acting as a standard soundcard as well as the MP3 mixer, you do not need an additional soundcard to use the DJ Console and it can act as the main soundcard for your computer. Technics 1200 / 1210 Mk2

Advantages: same turntable at home as in the clubs
Disadvantages: heavy

Technics 1200 / 1210 what more can you say its the number one DJ turntable on the planet. For years and years when i was younger just geting in to Djing all i wanted was a pair of technics. after a few years with other direct drive decks i finally saved enough money to buy a pair i of technics, i bought the SL1200Mk2 because they were silver i did not like the brown of the 1210 much. i have read around and talked to people and aparently the only difference between the 1200 and the 1210 is the colour. I set up my new 1200s and got the tunes out.
