...drive an beautiful Rosso Red Alfa 166 2.5 V6 Manual. I chose the car for its dramatic and distintive looks, especially from the front, and in order to be just that bit different from the crowd. With around £23,500 to spend the other choices (BMW, Audi, Merc etc) all seemed boring to look at when compared to the Alfa. Once delivered, after 10 weeks!, I was convinced I had made the right choice, looks, status, performance and the sweet sweet sound ... ...but hey this is an Alfa and don't all Italian cars have electrical problems. Anyway the dealer will fix it won't they. Maybe when I can get a dealer who cares. 3 dealers later I now have cruise control but my aircon is still only woking when it feels like it. I have completed 24,000 miles in 6 months and am averaging around 26 mpg over a mixture of motorway and M25!
Despite my gripes I love my car. It is fast, very quiet inside, very comfotable ... more

However after 2 days the aircon failed as did the cruise control but hey this is an Alfa and don't all Italian cars have electrical problems. Anyway the dealer will fix it won't they. Advantages: friendly, non pushy staff-no pressure for sale, cheaper than showroom prices, cars available to view parked outside in car parking slots Disadvantages: Not as cheap as getting it yourself from the Continent, not many second hand cars, location of site, not all models available
and have monthly targets, so if the price is too high for your pocket (especially as you can pick up Golf’s for less than £10K in Europe)come prepared - "do your homework".
With the quote in one hand approach Motor Nation again and maybe they would be able to sort out an amicable sale, but do ensure you make a telephone call to Motor Nation first so your journey will not be wasted should you be travelling some distance to get there.
As there was not much money saved in buying a VW golf, I looked at other savings they had for other cars. Now this is purely for illustrative purposes, as I cannot afford this car!! as much as I would love the executive saloon:

Cost Used, Fast lovely sounding engine, Good Handling, Good Looks, Nice InteriorFirstly it is great to drive and pulls hard in every gear it looks good in Alfa red in the wide body style and handles great to!! I love it and I am now an Alfa lover.
