Car Reviews of Alfa GTV »
Alfa Romeo 2.0L GTV. A future classic!
Advantages: Lovely handling. Beautiful. A lot of car for the price. Disadvantages: Quirky, unreliable electrics. Badly kept examples will cost you
...but nobodies perfect. Electrics aside, Alfa Romeo's are a lot more reliable than they used to be, and do not rust apart anymore. The TS engine is good. This car has personality. Much more interesting than those soulless japanese sports cars or a ford focus. There may not be much space in the back for lots of bags, but it'll teach your friend(s) to pack light or lose weight! You'll love it. ...

Italian beauty who's stolen my heart
Advantages: Sensual, stylish, visceral Disadvantages: Maintenance costs
This is an awesome product. The engine has to be heard to be fully appreciated, and the power delivery is fantastic. This is a car that will evoke your passions and will make you fall in love with it. You will find yourself looking at it continuously, in shop window reflections, and off passing cars paintwork.
On the downside, you can realistically only travel with one passenger, and you'd better make sure they pack lightly!! The boot is tiny, and ... ...check that you know how to work the puncture repair kit if you do not have a spare wheel, or a call to the AA will be required.
Although Alfas are known for reliability problems, I have had no problems with mine over the last 20,000 miles, but be warned - 'routine maintenance' costs are very high. You will find yourself replacing parts you'd never replaced on other cars. For example - radiator, oil cooler, brake lines, various suspension bits etc.

A wonderful car
Advantages: Sensations guaranteed Disadvantages: Not really comfortable on broken roads and an expensive maintenance
With whis car, and I know what I am talking, you can drive fast and secure! With a top speed of 250km/h I had a satisfied control of the car. With 180km/h it's relax! But don't drive that fast! :-P
The motor noise is wondeful to hear!!! You can drive and drive and drive without stopping, it's a great time I spend every morning to drive at work! :-)
And it looks like a "Pininfarina" modell!!! :-X
But!!!!!!! If you need pieces for that kind of motorisation, ... ...OH! I have to write 120 words here! LOL Well, ok, why not? :-P I will write so many words that the site will be too small for all those words... :-P
OK OK! Some people want more details. I will give some details more: A lot of buttons, no!!! It's a sports car. So simple as possible! But everything in!
It's SPORT! What can I say more??? It's not like a Cadillac and also not like a BMW!!! It's simple and GREAT!!! Looks sport!!!
My car is black metallic, ...

Romeo's heart captured mine
Advantages: Looks, performance, that engine sound Disadvantages: No traction control, M.P.G. interior build quality, rear seats
...that the design guys at Alfa live and work in northern Italy where the climate is much more favourable to being an Alfa owner than it is here back in Blighty. But now they do think more about their customers who aren't blessed with the sun 300 days a year and the rust worries of yesteryear are behind them.
The time had come when I needed to put my money where my mouth was and show the old duffers that a 2nd hand Alfa is a bargain buy.
Armed with ... ...have a look at the Alfa badge and it's eating a little bloke.
Sometime in the 15th century the two families joined forces to form the Visconti Dukes and joined flags too and to signify the royal consent of the merger the serpent had a crown placed upon it and the snake and cross remained as the symbol of the city.
Forward to 1910 and Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (or ALFA) was looking for a badge to put on their first car, turns out that ...

Nothing but Fun
Advantages: A lot of fun Disadvantages: Lack of space
The Alfa GTV is great fun but don't expect any form of creature comfort.
I think the best way to describe it would be compact. The front is actually quite spacious, but try getting in the back and you can suddenly feel claustaphobic. The lack of space is accentuated by the fact the rear seat is nothing more that a bench with a small amount of leather covered padding on it.
The front seats are quite comfortable and supportive, despite being low ... ...Once the car is moving, any form of comfort disappears. The suspension is hard and there is a tendancy for the passenger to get thrown around somewhat. For me this adds to the fun. It took a couple of weeks for me to get used to. My first journey as a passenger was about 4 hours long and I ended up feeling as if I had just had a major work out at the gym!
Parking is a bit tricky as rear visibility is fairly poor, but the fact it is a small car helps ...
