...Ive had my Alfa1471.6 turrissimo in racing green for just under twelve months now, done 30000 miles already, reliable, no teething problems, good looks make this a car that stands out without paying a fortune, uses a lot of oil (a litre approx every thousand miles) you really do need to check this frequently especially if you anticipate high mileage. Although 4 doors the innovative design of a hidden door handle on rear doors has fooled many into believing its a sporty 2 door (several friends have tried to get in via front seat!). The 147 handles well at seed and on cornering is reassuringly stable. Overall very pleasing and quality is worlds apart from the alfa`s of old....

Advantages: Great design Disadvantages: Not worth the money
...Got a 147 diesel as a hire car on holiday so when the time came to trade in my car and seen a lovely 5 door 1.6 Turismo at the dealers I was already sold on it. The car was two years old with full alfa service history. Great looking car although this one didn't have too many added options, compared to the one I had on holiday
Just got rid of it after 9 months as the costs were starting to pile up and could see it costing more and more even with me driving sensibly. Couldn't justify spending any more on it.
Petrol - it was drinking like an alcoholic in a brewery. Squeak coming from O/S front wheel bearing - had already replaced the other side. Tax band was the same as a 2L sports car. Finally decided to trade it in when I noticed a small patch of oil on the driveway....

...I just bought an alfa147turismo. I am only 19 & i love it. It looks & sounds great & is very up market for a 19 year old. I only paid £3000 for a 51 plate with 45000 miles on with cambelt done. Its in great nick. It runs sweet & have quite good economy for a 1600cc. It is a great little car with plenty of room in the back. Makes a lovely noise & is very comfy. Handles well & those looks. They are simply a great car to drive. The only think i hate about the car is that everyone says it will break down & cost a lot to fix. What a load of rubbish. My family has had a few alfas with no probs at all. I really do love my alfa, much more than my old fiat punto that i used to have....
