As we all know that stylish looks and charismatic engines have always been Alfa Romeo trademarks but used buyers demand some more apart from looks and engine- especially those looking for a practical family saloon and for all this Alfa Romeo is best in its class because despite its reputation for rust-prone and unreliable cars, the new models are more than worth a look.
Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon delivers a unique combination of style and versatility, it never lacks in space as other sports cars or small saloon cars always face this problem, this five-door version of the classy 156 saloon is an estate. The steering wheel adjusts for both height and reach and it takes only moments to settle comfortably into the seat and the gear lever is mounted high and angled towards the driver for ease of reach. Its interior is modular and classy in looks.
The tail-gate opening is wide and the rear bumper is low for easier loading and the split (60/40) fold rear seat comes with a ski tunnel. There's also an optional dog guard and yet another net to anchor baggage to the chrome tie-down loops and they are fixed to the floor. The rising waistline, slender glass area and sloping tail blend beautifully into a shape which is more appealing than that of the four-door. But Alfa is quite impractical, unexpectedly large hatch opening gives easy access to the 360 litres of boot space but there's a lip over which heavy items must be lifted.
