Alias

... When I talked to my co-workers about it the following day I said, " Ok there's this new show I just watched last night that was FANSTATIC called Alias..", several of them responded in kind saying they also loved the show. 20 minutes of "Alias" talking later, we started up an "Alias Night". ... In the Beginning, God Created Alias and saw that it was GOOD

Advantages: I can't even put the amount of advantages on here. It's fun, sad, happy, funny, thrilling & more
Disadvantages: It's EXTREMLY Addictive. I've been in the UK 4 Months and have addicted over 20 Brits to this show

***** ALIAS Night*****

"Alias Night" is where all of us would take turns going to a persons house to watch the show. We kept it up that entire 2nd seaons and into the 3rd season. We ALL looked forward to those nights. Everyone would cook something and bring it over, we'd have a few glasses of wine (or beer for the guys), we'd chat through the commericals about what's happening in the show and our thoughts, ...
...It was like a narcotic. Alias was our cocaine and we couldn't get enough. All of us bought the TV seasons on DVD as soon as they came out. We would have Alias Marathons where several of us would get together and watch an entire season back to back to back.

Now if that's not dedication, I don't know what is.

Fast foward to the present time and my friends and I STILL watch and love this show, even though the last season ... more

Jennifer Garner is Hot!!! (Season One DVD review)

Advantages: Great action, excellent acting and great gadgets.
Disadvantages: I can't think of any.

...recently purchased Season two of Alias on DVD but decided on doing a review of the season one box set as I have not watched the season two DVD's as of yet. I actually have never seen any of the season two episodes except for episode 1 and 2 because ON/ITV Digital was switch off at the time when the season started. It was all down to the division three football clubs who wanted more money from ITV. Although it is said that ITV were not paying them ...
...subject. Okay back to Alias. Alias was created by JJ Abrams who also created the show 'Felicity' starring Keri Russell and also co-wrote 'Armageddon' and 'Roadkill' aka 'Joyride'. He came up with the idea for the show and finally got the chance to make it after 'Felicity' finished it's four season run, so he cast former Felicity guest star Jennifer Garner as the lead character 'Sydney Bristow'. The show has been going for three seasons now and been ...

In the life of a double agent...

Advantages: Great storylines, great characters
Disadvantages: Its only on once a week

...infrared pulse. When Alias first aired in the US on September 30th, nobody quite knew the actors behind the show. JJ Abrams (the creator) chose Jennifer Garner as the main lead character, Sydney Bristow. He had seen her in a guest role in 'Felicity' and knew she was right for the role as the double agent. Now, Jennifer has become one of the hottest women around, even nominated as one of the hottest new faces on television. Secondly, Abrams chose ...
...Bristow...........Victor Garber Overall, Alias has become of one the greatest Sci-Fi shows ever to be shown. I believe that Alias is an up-coming show bound for success, and the show has already been nominated for 11 emmeys. The characters are excellent, displaying all the emotions and calmness necessary and the storylines such as SD-6 being under threat of being blow up add great suspense. Along with guest appearances from Quentin Tarantino and ...

Alias.2..The Long Awaited Review.

Advantages: Addictive. Exciting. Action-packed. Jennifer Garner!
Disadvantages: Cliffhanger Endings. The Time It`s Shown on C4.

This opinion is one of a pair written on C4 and "Alias". As most governments know, if you want to recruit someone into your secret service, you get to them whilst they are in University. There the young minds, often demanding, politically awakening and rebellious, are at their most receptive to these advances. The Russians were particularly adept at this, recruiting many of their most damaging and politically influential spies from UK institutions ...
...McClean are just a few of their most successful captures. It`s not just MI5 and MI6 that recruit from academia. The various American agencies, CIA, FBI and the US Secret Service also rely heavily upon their Halls of Learning as poaching grounds for their recruitment, so it would have come as no great shock to learn that one of the latest agents to hit our screens, Sydney Bristow, had also been drafted into serving her country from Post-graduate ...

Fights and Love Affairs Just Like Mum Used To

Advantages: Brilliant performances, Lush locations, Great Script.
Disadvantages: Sometimes, a bit teenagerish.

...Sydney) Season one of Alias was mainly about Rambaldi, an ancient scientist, who hundreds of years ago wrote a document named the ‘Prophecy’ which contains apartly very, earth changing visions into the future. It also doesn’t help that on the front a picture of Sydney Bristow is drawn. The first ¾ of the season is about Sydney trying to get ancient artefacts to read the document as it is in a now, undistinguishable language. The last ¼ was a fight ...
...things I like most about Alias is the script. It perfectly tows the line, in terms of serving up really shocking plot twists, but doesn’t make it unfamiliar to the audience. The characters are so well developed that they feel real, the show is a very real one. It’s about people who are really well established and well real, in unreal circumstances. The action is very well planed out and in some scenes ingenious. The writers are brilliant at keeping ...

I C SD6 V CIA

Advantages: Great Storylines, Good Action, Gripping
Disadvantages: Some of the soft rock soundtrack

...and with zero advertisements. Alias could be described as the Buffy of the Spy genre. However that would be a dis-service to the show as it’s actually more adult than Buffy and I would say it’s more serious in tone and lacking in the pop culture that Buffy offered. The plot sees college student Sidney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) get recruited for a secret government agency named SD-6. During this time you globetrots on top-secret missions. However ...
...The thing that makes Alias great is that every week is generally a thrilling instalment that ends on a cliffhanger. Thankfully I watched it all on DVD so I could easily go on to the next episode without having to wait a week. However without this I’m sure that if you were watching week by week then it would have you in anticipation. The show is very well written and along the way there are some dark storylines. One sees Sidney trapped in an insane ...

Get your juices flowing

Advantages: Brilliant story, great actors
Disadvantages: Second series has been dumbed down

When I saw the first showing of Alias on Sky 1, I was immediately hooked. I watched the normal showing, then the repeat, and later on the repeat on Channel Four. The fast pace and great storyline, added to the fact that Jennifer Garner makes it look all too easy and believable, just had all the ingredients of a great new show. The basic concept is that Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) is recruited for what she believes is a secret branch of the CIA. Later she find out that it isn't, but actually a terrorist/organised crime type of organisation using the CIA as a cover to fool their lower recruits. At first sight this sounds like the usual ho hum plot line, but the twists and turns along the way, plus the thumping soundtrack makes it better than drugs. When Sydney is in the middle of doing a mission, the music starts and I ...

Alias 1..The Curse Of The Programme Schedulers.

Advantages: You need a VCR to get the most out of it.
Disadvantages: Some wierd timings chosen.

, the time slot that a major new action-drama series has been given then it makes me wonder if the regulars were on holiday recently and the job was given to some work experience student instead! The show in question - Alias! And the time for transmission chosen - 5.30 on a Saturday afternoon! Before judging this decision against the criteria above let`s look at some hard facts. a) In the U.S this show was given a big build up prior to launch, being likened to an amalgam of the X-Files, 24, Mission Impossible and other major drama series of recent years. b) The time for transmission was chosen by ABC as 9.00 Sunday night - prime time! c) Over 15 million watched the first episode. d) Nominated for 11 Emmy Awards. e) Jennifer Garner, the lead was awarded the Golden Globe for newcomer in a dramatic role. f) She also came 4th in a poll ...
