Advantages: Thought provoking...

...dinner together – and throughout the meal from hors d'oeuvre to dessert, we are simultaneously exposed to parallel goings on in the lives of friends independently known to Gilles and Pauline, examining their own relationships. All the while Gilles and Pauline desperately attempt to remain faithful to their spouses in deed, if not in thought. The unashamed chemistry between Gilles and Pauline is highly erotic. To provide you with a more probing account of their simmering relationship would, I fear, prove to be an anti-climax that destroys the sumptuous development to an unexpected outcome should you read the book. ‘The Lovers’ is a translation by Helen Stevenson (published by Atlantic Books under the name of Alice Ferney). ...the story of alice in april is april is a difficult time for alice.although it begins with a wonderful april fools joke on lester her brother,alice is also reminded that she will soon be thirteen and will be the women of the house,since her mum is dead.alice feels that she will be awesome responsibility-looking after lester could be a full time job in itself! and when she suggests her father and lester ought to have physical check ups,she aghast when her father insists she has one too-how can she let the doctor see her with no clothes on?you will have to read the book to see what happens next.if you have any question e mail samantha keenan on samkeenan@hotmail.com... Advantages: its a good book
Disadvantages: none

...the book is about 2 girls called gemma and alice who are best friends and have the same birthdays. gemma is very loud and a bit lairy and very sporty whereas alice is very girly and shy. anyway the 2 girls are always together and having sleepovers round eachothers houses, but one day gemma reads alices diary and discovers alice has a secret. so she confronts her about it and it turns out she is moving to scotland. the 2 girls cant bear to be apart so they run away together but meet a boy from school who tells his mum so when the girls are on the train to london (just leaving the station) the parents come so they have to return. when alice is gone gemma is really miserable and you will have to read the rest! love jadey xxx...
