The illustrations in the book are bright, colourful and full of detail, I especially like bear and bee as they both look very cute!

This is a nice gently story perfect for bedtime as my son really settles down instead of getting wound up like some of the books we read.
The book does not make it clear that the ... ...very good at picking up what is going on in the story and he kept telling us that bears friends were not being very nice and that he was just trying to help and wanted to play.
I have to say my favourite bit in the story is when bear is scratching his back, he climbs a tree and then has fun swinging across it like a monkey!

This is one of the lastest books recently added to my son`s book collection, he is turning into a bookworm just like me!
You can buy this book as a paperback or hardback, the one we have is a hardback book. On the front of the cover is a picture of a cute bear who is doing a handstand!
The story starts with bear who is laying on his favourite hilltop catching the sun when along comes a bee and lands on his nose. The bee is very cross with bear as he cannot collect the pollen from the flowers with bear squashing them.
Bear then goes off and does a roly poly down the hill which he thinks is fun until he lands on poor mole!
As the story continues you will see that bear is trying to have fun and do his favourite things but he always lands up in trouble with the other animals who are just way too busy to play with him.
Finally bear walks back to his favourite hilltop, he starts to sun bathe again when he can hear a loud buzzing noise. He sits up and sees all his friends coming towards him, what will they say or do?

The book does not make it clear that the animals we get to meet are actually bears friends until the end of the story.
My son is getting very good at picking up what is going on in the story and he kept telling us that bears friends were not being very nice and that he was just trying to help and wanted to play. I have to say my favourite bit in the story is when bear is scratching his back, he climbs a tree and then has fun swinging across it like a monkey!
The words in the book are quite small so a young child would find it hard to read this on their own. My son gets quite annoyed as he likes to pick out certain words in his books these days but he has found this book too hard to do that.
We paid £2.49 in Tesco for this book but if you have a look in Morrisons you might find it for £2!
