Advantages: easy story line keeps the children reading right to the end Disadvantages: the story could end up a bit repetative after a few times.
...Who can not remember this book being read to them as a child, and then reading it themselves? This book is a simple storyline with excellent pictures. The mystery of looking through the holes a guessing who in on the other side makes this a wonderful read again and again. Certainly a book that I will never get tired off. A true children's classic that will keep generations of children happy. The only problem that could occur is that some people may get just a little bored after the third time, as the story is short and easy, but I think that this makes in an excellent bed time read when a favourite story is required. Well done to Janet and Allen Ahlberg...

Peepo is a peek-a-boo book with a difference..........by means of strategically placed holes, the reader sees a small sample of what the baby in the story sees through various stages of his day, e.g. his parent's bed from his cot, the hustle and bustle of the kitchen from his highchair etc..... When the adjacent page is turned the full acitivities within the kitchen, the backyard etc are seen.
The illustrations are extremely detailed....they are said to be based on Janet and AllanAhlberg's childhood so features like a range in the kitchen, coal being brought in for the fire, old-fashioned toys are depicted.
In short, the illustrations represent Janet Ahlberg's fine talents at their best!! Children can talk for ages about them, spotting different things on each page at different readings!
~Educational value~

...Each Peach Pear Plum is a wonderful children's book written by Janet and AllanAhlberg, and at just £4.99 it is definately one I would advice parents, teachers, grandparents and gardians to have on their bookshelves.
I remember loving this book as a child, and I bought it a few months back to add to my own collection because I am doing teachers training and this is one book I would love to share with my future classes.
The book is written in very bold black font accompanies by the most beautiful illustrations. The text on each page contains two lines which rhyme with each other and encourage the reader, or audiance to find a new character in the illustrations. This continues for 12 pages before at last all the characters appear on one page.
As a child I loved trying to find the different characters and would always request...
