I found the service useless. The switching service is slow and when you chase it up and wait for ages on the phone you're told that "they're busy". So what ?! - that's not my problem! The staff in the branches appear to be able to do nothing at all except hand out cards with phone numbers to call on.
I set up a premier account and regular saver and regret it. I am now in the process of cancelling the account, once I've eaked my way through the long phone queue ("4 mins" long apparently. It's 8 mins so far though).
I would advise others to wait for another bank to trump the A&L interest rate (as always happens at some point) and go there. HSBC do not offer such an account for me, but if they did I would go there after far superior service from them.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
