Review of Alliance & Leicester by

Advantages: Great customer service.
Disadvantages:
...I have had an Alliance & Leicester current account for over a year now and I can honestly say that I have never had any problems with them. My account probably offers much the same as any other bank would do, yet this is not really where Alliance & Leicester excel.
Firstly, they have an excellant customer service and if I have ever had any problems, then they have sorted it out very quickly and without fuss.
Another area where they excel is the number of ways that you can make lodgements -through the post, at an Alliance & Leicester branch or at the post office.
Finally, Alliance & Leicester have many different options for tracking your banking. They have an automated telephone system where you can check your account and much more. Also, they have an internet site that allows you to print statements, check your account and order...

Alliance and leicester
Review of Alliance & Leicester by
quickd18
Advantages: Interest every month
Disadvantages: Bad service
...I have only been with Alliance and leicester for a couple of weeks now and i have found their service is very unreliable.
I have a Visa Electron account.
I payed a cheque in on thurday last week and it still has not cleared.
They said on their leaflet it would take 2-4 working days.
But it has now been 5 working day excluding the weekend.
The interest rate is very competitive and you get it every month.
People who are already with Alliance and leicester should shut down their account.
I should have stuck with HSBC and Natwest.
Their customer service is better than Alliance and leicester's.
If anyone would like further infomation on this please e-mail me on quickd18@hotmail.com.
Or you can leave a comment.
Don't just go for the best deal like i did research the company in full....

Moneyback but at a cost
Review of Alliance & Leicester Moneyback by
willsmj
Advantages: moneyback
Disadvantages: poor return
...The alliance and leicester gold card is a money back card. That means that once a year, which in this instance is in each January, a cheque arrives at your home. In some cases these cheques may be large, but in most cases around £30 to£50 should be expected.
Yes, this is good, as you are saving in a different way to recieve a cheque each year, but to what cost?
If you use the alliance and leicester card regularly and compare it with the use of a goldfish card over the same expenditure, in my eyes the goldfish card wins hands down. The return on this card is in high street vouchers and not cash, but you can easily spend them because they include such stores as asda, comet, british gas, etc, etc.
The alliance and leicester cashback or moneyback as they call it cannot be sneezed at, but it only returns the value of around 50...
