Manufacturer's product description
Simple, reliable and secure, the AT-WCL460 combines the best of both worlds: the advantages of a wireless network with the security managing EAP when combined with ATI wireless access points. Connectivity is offered when and where you need it. The AT-WCL460 provides reliable performance without wires. Automatic rate selection dynamically supports 1, 2, 5.5 and 11Mbps for maximum availability and reliability of network connections. The proper data rate is determined automatically permitting robust connectivity. Instead of using traditional cabling to create a network, this 11Mbps wireless LAN technology provides efficient, reliable wireless communication between multiple computers, appliances, and the Internet. It enables users to experience the many benefits of wireless LANs by allowing them to provide network access in hard to wire locations, provide easy network access in conference rooms and public areas, and ensure hassle-free connectivity in spaces that are frequently reconfigured. The AT-WCL460 enables a variety of Mobile LAN resources such as access to e-mail, the Internet, and library databases. It enables peer-to-peer communications between portables in a wireless LAN. In public spaces, the technology will let users access the Internet remotely using their home or office ISP accounts. Without the burden of cabling, you will enjoy unprecedented freedom to move about the home, office, classroom, or public space. The AT-WCL460 offers standards based compatibility by complying with IEEE 802.11b 11Mbps and 5.5Mbps standard and IEEE 802.11 Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) 1Mbps and 2Mbps standard. By conforming to the IEEE 802.11b standard, it ensures interoperability with equipment from many vendors.
