...A wireless network has recently been installed where I live and I was unable to connect to it using my Belkin F5D7000, without moving my PC into the middle of the room. I read up on how to improve network connection and the Belkin F5D6900 seemed like a reasonable option.
The Belkin F5D6900 is a small omni-directional antenna that comes fitted to a base, so it sits on your desk, and a 1 metre length of cable. ...i had a wireless LAN set up in my home, the pc down stairs and my xbox upstairs, i could never get a good signal and on many occassions i comlpletely lost the signal. So i purchased this antenna, at first from reading the spec it looks like it says the cable is only 5 INCHES!!!! Well, its not, its at least 1 metre so you can easily get it on your desktop and away from the wires at the back of the pc. I plugged in my new antenna and found a good spot on my desktop, then looked at the signal, It was excellent and 54mbps, the best it could be. I was very suprised and very very happy. I have had no problems since with signal problems and it has not disconnected once.
Well worth the money if your having problems with your wireless network, it can only be used with the belkin f5d7000 and the wireless B card aswell.
got mine from www...
