Lord Loss is the first book of the ten book saga of the ?Demonata?writtenby DarrenShan. The Demonata is the second series that Shan has written coming after the widely successful Saga of DarrenShan (aptly named I guess). ?Lord Loss? was released June 6th 2005 within the UK. DarrenShan is the number one best seller of teenage horror but I would really like to point out that he is often refered to as a childrens auther but a lot of the material in this book begs to differ and is vey obviously not for the very young but ill go into that more later.
The book itself is easily readable with large font and is set out in a very easy to follow way, written in first person it folllows the unfortunate events that surround a teenage boy ?Grubbs Grady?. The paper back version of the book has a glow in the dark cover which gives quite a cool ...

I remember remarking, when reveiwing Lord Loss (the first in the Demonata series) that I struggled to believe anything substantial could evolve from it. On reflection i realise just how wrong i was. Those who have not read Dark Calling's predecessors, it will be hard to go into the plot without delving into too much detail. I discovered DarrenShan's works when I was quite young, and now being seventeen, I still proudly call my self a Shan fan.
Those that have followed the stories thus far would be aware of the plot, but for those unsure in brief the series is told from the points of view of three characters, in the first person narrative. There are two universes, ours being what we see and of little or no magic and the other belonging to that of the Demonata, vicious bloodthirsty creatures who want nothing more than to kill all ...
Advantages: you get a good read out of it, you improve on vocabulary Disadvantages: you want to read the next one and the next. and you can there are ten of them.
this in my opinion is the best darrenshan book out it is the third book in the demonata series, it picks up where book one left off, grubtisch grady and his uncle dervish grady are trying to lead a normall life after their encounter with lord loss (a demon master)in a battle to free grubtisch's brother bill-E from the grady family curse, which transforms you in to a werewolf. They get an invitation to be in a film by a famouse movie director davida hayam to be in the film set for a horror called slawter they exept the invitation and end up a few weeks later on the film set. while grubtisch is sitting in one of his lessons he accedently melts a pen in his hand and realises there is a lode stode harboring demons in the area so he can draw upon an endless suply of magic. they find out where the lode stone and demons are and then drive away ...
