Almay did not live up to several of its promises as listed above. These are clearly stated on the back of the bottle. I expected my skin to remain oil-free and well-covered at least through my work day. This was not to be.

I recently ran out of my favorite foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. Since I live 15 miles away from the closest department store that sells Estee Lauder products, I went into the local Kmart and decided to try one of the brands sold there. Almay has an excellent reputation for being a hypoallergenic makeup. It is also a subsidiary of Revlon, a very popular and reputable company in the US that has been around for years.
I looked through the various foundations that they offer and decided to try Almay "Skin Stays Clean" makeup base. It is presented in a clear glass bottle with white writing on both sides of the bottle. The cap is silver in color. It is not an unattractive bottle and actually looks like some of the more expensive brands I have used.
The very next morning I gave it a try. I followed the directions on the bottle when applying it to my face. By 2 PM that afternoon, I could not even tell that I had used any foundation. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
***DIRECTIONS*** ~ Shake well. ~ Smooth over face, using fingertips or sponge.
***PRODUCT PROMISES*** ~ Keeps pores clean and dirt out. ~ Goes on cool, refreshing, super light. ~ Evens out skintone with a natural finish. ~ Skin feels clean and looks fresh all day. ~ Oil free* * No animal, vegetable, or mineral oil.
Almay did not live up to several of its promises as listed above. These are clearly stated on the back of the bottle. I expected my skin to remain oil-free and well-covered at least through my work day. This was not to be.
Upon first application in the morning, my face did immediately feel cool and fresh. The makeup was a indeed "super light," so much so that it felt watery. By mid-afternoon, my face was greasy looking. It appeared that I had not applied any foundation on my face at all. As far as evening out my skintone, it did not. The small scars from earlier blemishes stood out like a sore thumb on my face. My face didn't feel clean, either. In fact, it felt oily and dirty.
Almay products claim to be hypo-allergenic, fragrance free, non-comodogenic (does not block pores which can lead to breakouts), clinically dermotologist and allergy tested. All of these claims appear to be valid. The makeup had no odor at all. Also, I did not suffer any breakouts after using the product. No allergies were detected; I did not suffer from rash or itchiness.
As stated earlier, I feel that this product did not live up to its promises. I spent $8.99 on the 1- fluid ounce bottle of foundation and feel that it was money poorly spent. One of the reasons I use foundation is to even out my skintone and to keep it from appearing oily. Even with the use of facial powder, the oil was shining through! The blush that I had used was soaked up by this makeup base.
Incidentally, when I checked for a list of ingredients which is supposed to be posted on the bottom of the foundation bottle itself, it wasn't there. The only ingredients mentioned on the back of the bottle are Vitamins A and E plus Aloe.
I would not waste my money on this product again. I am very disappointed in the performance of this foundation. Unfortunately, if I wrote to the company, I doubt they would receive my mail. The only address shown on the bottle is: Almay, Inc., NY, NY 10022. Also, there is no website address on the bottle.
If you are looking for good, long-lasting makeup coverage, I wouldn't bother trying this one.
Advantages: non-comedogenic, good coverage, yellow toned shades. Disadvantages: glass bottle, with only 12 shades.
I bought almay's "skin stays clean" foundation about a month ago. The reason being that my skin has been quite naughty with me recently, and although i use and love elizabeth arden's flawless finish mousse, it just hasn't been giving me enough coverage lately. So i was looking for a non-comedogenic foundation to keep my pores from clogging up while I was wearing it. I also wasn't looking for an expensive foundation, as I hope this bout of bad skin ... ...Boots, and costing a very reasonable £8.99, I had hoped it might be the answer to my problems, and in a way, it has been ok for me. I can't expect miracles. so i'll just give you the technical stuff... **THE BOTTLE** Amazingly in this day and age, the bottle for skin stays clean is made from glass. The bottle is 10cm tall and has a shiny silver lid. it is very sleek looking, and in my opinion looks more expensive than what it costs. The details and ...

...looks shiny. I saw the Almay skin stays clean foundation and thought it should be quite good. I found a foundation that practically matched the colour of my max factor foundation and purchased the product.
I got home and tried the foundation. first when I put the foundation on it had a nice tingly refreshing feel which is quite unusual for a foundation. The foundation looked petty even and smooth. Later on about 2 hours later I noticed that the ...

Advantages: The product gives a very even coverage, and is not too heavy Disadvantages: The design of the bottle isn't great - it makes it easy to pour too much
...I decided to try Almay as I had never used any of their products before, and wanted a change from my usual choices. I have been pleased with the foundation as a whole - it blends nicely, stays on well, and gives me quite an even skin tone, aside from the two small problem areas of dry skin. The only other negative point is that the bottle is perhaps more difficult to use than those which you squeeze, but this is not a great problem! I would certainly ... ...I have never found a foundation which effectively deals with mixed skin, and Almay certainly performs well in other ways. There is a fairly good choice of shade, and the bottle isn't too big, so can be transported easily, although it is quite heavy, being made of thick glass. ...

. One of the bright orange ladies on the Lancome counter suggested I try Almay 'SkinStaysClean' Foundation, which was available at the nearby Healthy Living shop. When I got there, I had a choice of 'skinstaysclean' which comes in a bottle, or Nearly Naked which caught my eye as it looked like a powder compact, which is unusual for a foundation. I asked the assistant for a tester...
The Product
**************
Nearly Naked is different to any foundation I've seen previously. The makeup itself is a very thin watery liquid which is held in a compacted sponge, or 'touch-pad'. The idea is that you touch the sponge, the liquid makeup is deposited on your finger and you can use it to give a sheer, natural look. It is hypoallergenic, non-irritating and 100% fragrance free, which is great for sensitive souls like myself, and it comes foil ...
