Advantages: Natural and does help whiten teeth Disadvantages: Takes a while to get used to
AloeDent Whitening, an effective yet natural route to whiter teeth. In this toothpaste, the water found in most regular toothpastes is replaced with soothing aloevera and naturally whitening silica to brighten stained or discoloured teeth. AloeDent Whitening also contains vitamin K for strong healthy teeth and tea tree oil for its naturally antiseptic qualities.
Don?t be put off by the slightly spooky green colour; used regularly this new gel toothpaste offers frontline defence against gum disease and dental decay, leaving your mouth cool and minty fresh between brushings. The mint taste is strong, and may be too strong for children ? but what do they want with tooth whitening anyway? It forms part of a dental care range that includes regular and sensitive toothpastes as well as a highly effective mouth-wash.

Aloevera plants are brilliant, easy to care for and have endless uses.
Aloevera plats as as pictured above but as they get older do grow a stem in the middle and flower. They can grow to about 100 cm tall but dont wory you will be cutting lots off it.
They need to have gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage, and a soil/ sand mix of 50/50 to be kept best.
You cant keep your aloevera plant outside as it likes to be warm and you only need to water it when the soil drys up, about once a month for the 2 in my kitchen.

When you notice the soil is bone dry, water the plant, but don't let it sit in water and always wait for the compost to dry out before you water it again. As far as I know, AloeVera is a hardy plant, meaning you can leave it outside, but I've never trusted my wee medicinal plants to the harsh northern winter, and don't think I'd want to risk loosing them, so I keep them on a sunny windowsill in the warm and they seem quite content.
