As someone who doesn't eat animals, I'd rather use a toothpaste that doesn't contain any animal ingredients and isn't tested on animals. My only problem had been that I have really sensitive teeth unless I use a toothpaste designed to stop sensitive teeth, and I'd not seen a vegetarian toothpaste ... Read review

...However, then I spotted AloeDent Sensitive Toothpaste in my local healthfood store and thought I'd try it out. I bought it at Apple Jacks (don't know if that's a national chain or just a one-off) which is a bit like Holland and Barrett and I'm pretty sure Holland and Barrett would have it. ... ...lot fresher and less of a harsh minty taste than conventional toothpastes (I'm not a big fan of the minty taste in toothpastes by the way). The paste is a slightly opaque green colour and you use the same amount as with conventional toothpaste. It contains Vitamin K, Echinacea and Tea Tree Oil along with other natural ingredients. It comes in a 100ml tube and costs about £2.50 to £3.50, depending on where you get it (I've seen it at £2.50 online).

I switched from 'normal' chemical toothpastes last year. The first natural ones I found were either very chalky in texture, and didn't leave my teeth feeling clean, or tasted horrible.
Then I discovered AloeDent! At first, after looking at the ingredients, I thought it might give an after taste, but it didn't - the mint taste was great, and no nasty after tastes atall - just minty freshness!
It's minty green gel comes in a standard plastic tube ... ...single-coloured blurbs, and a crisp picture of an aloe vera leaf.
It looks pretty much like any other toothpaste - but it isn't!
It doesn't contain SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) - an unnecessary foaming agent which can cause irritation. It contains natural active ingredients - not only does the tube state the latin ingredients, but in brackets it states the english! It lists what each of the active ingredients do;
