...The graphics were extremely smooth, especially the cutscenes that were quite scarily realistic. Gave a good few hours gameplay and then a few more to try and obtain the extra endings. Sound was excellent, very atmospheric with surround sound built in. You get very nervy if you're in playing the game alone.
I was left totally stumped as to what happened in the story. I never finished Silent Hill, so that could have something to do with this. But this was the only downside to the game. You can choose your own difficulty level, so it's very easy to complete depending on how much confict you're in the mood for.
All in all a very good game for the PS2. Just don't play it alone in the dark.......

...the console, will it ever be worth its price tag? Of course it will, it’s a great machine. As mentioned above the DVD player is of a good standard and this is an important selling point for people like myself who have not got a stand-alone DVD player yet. The picture quality is impressive and the sound is extremely good - so that Dolby digital label actually means something. For those new to DVD's they are really worthwhile as the quality is so much better than videotapes. DVD's also offer special add-ons such as extra scenes that vary from DVD to DVD but are generally well worth viewing. Unfortunately the DVD player in the PS2 does have one downfall and this is the unwieldy menu screen controlled by a games control. However this problem is solved by the addition of a PS2 DVD remote at around £10. I hear you groan "not more money...

Advantages: Superb shoot em up Disadvantages: None!
...We all know about Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Half-Life etc, and also know that they were, and still are, brilliant first-person shoot 'em-ups. But these games are best known on the PC, N64 or Dreamcast. So where are the Playstation 2 equivalents?
The answer has been here for a while now, out on the PS2, and it goes by the name of: TIMESPLITTERS.
