AloneIn The Dark: The NewNightmare uses pre-rendered backgrounds - except for in battles - to create a pseudo 3D environment which is impressive for a Game Boy Color title for they are detailed and show great use of colour. The manner in which Edward Carnby - whom you control - is scaled to appear of the right proportion in relation to the camera is handled well. Detailed as the backgrounds are, there are times when what is represented is not clear hence it's not always obvious where it is you are meant to look, and how it is the stills relate to each other. Still, that's not to dismiss the quality of these graphics.

Alonein the Dark the NewNightmare is apparently the latest in a set, as of yet i've been unable to find others so if anyone has an info please let me know.
The game starts by showing a brief video type play showing how Carnby gets involved. You are then presented with the choice of either being Carnby or Aileen Cedric, if you choose to be Carnby good luck as I have not managed to get very far with him at all (so if anyone has any hints they would be much appreciated).
The storyline behind the game is basically you need to discover the secret of the family who live on the island and who were supposedly a bit crazy but genius, well that is Carnaby’s mission anyway. Aileen on the other hand thinks one of the nutty professors may be her father.

Storyline :
Set during 2008, the story continues with Edward Carnby, the main protagonist from the original game, looking for answers to strange supernatural and bizarre phenomenon while trying to survive inNew York City's Central Park which is where the main plot is. The game story centers around rumors, allegations, and suspicious activity in tunnels found below the park. Throughout the game, Carnby will be assisted by Sarah Flores, a mouthy female art dealer, and Theophile Paddington, an elderly man who has knowledge about the weird happenings in Central Park, and an old friend of Carnby's. The main antagonist is another elderly man named Crowley.
