Alpha Protocol Introduction And Story

This game is a third-person espionage role-playing video game this enables you to see your character and every thing around him as you move the analog stick to change your view.

You start of as a Field agent but after some unfortunate circumstances the character Michael Thorton who is forced to go rogue taking on jobs he gets offered from contacts he knows or he takes jobs where innocent people need help. He's aided by a friend Nina who helps you and tells you where to go you only see her via a video link or hear her over head set but she is the second main character behind Michael Thorton. So he sets up his base in his home which changes the more you go through the game as he travels all across the world you also get the opportunity to interact with people as this is the best feature of the game. As it's mainly down to you if you want to befriend this person or not as you get four choices on what to say to the person you're interacting with and your choices have consequences. You might need the people you talk to for back up on a mission or in many cases their money as if you pick the right thing to say you get offered money which you need to buy weapons and ammo and other gadgets also if you say the wrong thing it may come back to haunt you as you maybe forced to kill them. This game has a couple of different endings to it as its one of a few games that I know off that does this it all depends on the choices you pick while interacting the characters you meet.

Graphics (& Glitches)

Graphics are poor and the main reason this game isn't rated among the top third-person espionage role-playing video games. As the visuals are very weak as it looks very old-fashioned and there is hardly any detail to the game whether it be big or small. All aspects of the graphics are weak from costumes to the scenery as they are both plain and to bland. Even the characters faces are poor your able to change the structure of your characters face but this doesn't help as there isn't many choices to choose from and the ones they do have are all to similar.

Also I had to restart a couple of times as I got stuck in awkward places as I found my self unable to move. There was a couple of times where I had finished my mission but it kept me on the level as at first I thought I had missed something but as I repeated the level I found out it just did not load which wasted a bit of my time.

Sound wise I had no problems as the characters interact a lot so it's very important to hear what they are saying to each other as you need to listen to the information there giving you so you can take an estimate on what to say to keep your progress going in the story mode. The speaking comes out very clearly and loud enough to understand it.

Weapons And Gadgets

There is a lot of guns to choose from in this game but not that many different kind of guns as there is only four types of guns pistol, assault riffle, machine gun and shot-gun as they all have the advantages and disadvantages. But there are a many of different types of them guns such as there is about six or seven different type of Machine guns.

The gadgets are pretty cool though you don't start of with any but the better you do and the more you go through the game the more points you get the more your able you to top up your Advancement Points and as you top these up the more gadgets and special abilities there are available to you. Some of the abilities go hand in hand with the weapons you have like rapid aim which only work with pistols or some assault ruffles as every gun has at least one special abilities to go with it. There are other abilities that give you a shield or make you invisible for a short amount of time which come in handy for missions.

There's also the usual smoke, fire and explosive grenades but also you get other cool stuff like electrical bombs which takes out alarm systems and cameras which then makes the missions slightly easier. Without these you have to disable alarms and cameras manual this in takes you having to crack the key as there is three different ways one being having to find a numbered code two is a balancing acts as you have to use RT and LT to possession the key into the right slot as its very sensitive and three is a bunch of circuit lines all muddled up as you have to get them in order starting from one to five as the pictures below will give you a better idea of what am trying to say these are fun at first but get slightly annoying the more into the game you get.

Your also able to use hand to hand combat as you can either sneak up on your enemy and take them out in one move as long as he doesn't see you that is or your able to punch and kick though this is also a little weak as the fighting is very basic and old-fashioned as it isn't very stylish what so ever.

Age Recommendations

This game has a rating of 15 rating as there is obviously a lot of killing by hand or by weapons though there is not much blood as it is quite tame for a shooting game also there is some bad languages though none of the heavy curse's words are present.

The Longevity

This game is good for longevity as it took my a while to complete it and the different country's you travel to and the new special abilities you unlock helps freshen the game up along with the new characters you meet. Each country you visit has on average of about five missions some taking longer than other but most are quite long. You visit about five or six county's in all though some you visit twice to keep in line with the story line.
