Advantages: High quality, well-priced, feature packed Disadvantages: Annoying power off button - that's it!!
...I bought the Alpine CTA-1502R Commander Tuner/Controller to replace a rather old Alpine Tuner/Tape head unit with CD Changer. Having had a very good experience with my previous Alpine head unit, the replacement had to be an Alpine. Since adding a CD changer to my old head unit, I'd stopped using cassettes because the difference in quality was unbelievable. I therefore didn't want to play tapes on my new unit. That's why I went for the 1502, since all it has built in is a tuner and amplifier. Anything else can be added on, like the CD changer which I bought at the asme time.
Since having the unit, about six months, it has worked perfectly. It has a very large display, since there are no openings for CDs, tapes etc. It uses the display for all of the usual info along with a spectrum analyser (flashing lights) which can be changed...

...i recently purchased this amazing unit by Alpine from BassJunkies for just over £300. Its a fantastic unit that contains many different features hence the thick user guide that comes with the unit. The unit is fully customizable with the options of changing button colours, background movies, many diifferent preset factory equalisers aswell as manual setupus to customize the sound to your own personal liking.
I have only had the item about a week and i am loving every little detail and feature that it contains. The sound quality through my pioneer rear speakers is spot on as with the bulit in equalisers alows me to make the sound perfect. I previously had a sony but there is no comparison to my new unit.
I thought fitting of this would be a right pain however for £15 pounds i was able to match my car to the lead that come from...

Advantages: These speakers will handle large amounts of power and are more than willing to do so for long periods of time. They have rather punchy bass so I find that they work very well along side a sub and they have great midrange sound. Disadvantages: Quite weighty so if you're planning on installing them into a standard parcel shelf be prepared to stregthen it, better still would be to replace the shelf with a wooden one.
...I reluctently purchased these 6x9's about 6 months ago after becoming sympathetic with passangers in the rear of my car only being able to hear the constant drowning of sub bass.
Having not run any speakers in the rear for quite some time because I rather spend money on SQ upfront (the place your ears point to) and on sub bass, I was very dubious as to how this would affect the overall sound of the system.
I already had the Alpine SPR176A components up front and was more than happy with them so I thought that I'd give their 6x9 cousins a try.
When they arrived I was impressed by the build quality of the basket and cone, they come with the same silk dome tweater as the Alpine compnents so I pretty much knew what to expect.
I hooked them up to my Alpine 4ch amp and fired them up!! "oooh dear" they sounded dreadful, the bass...

This is the ultimate 'convenient' Headunit!
I bought this to fit in my XKR, to replace the frankly 'rubbish' std audio system (tuner, cassette and CD autochanger).
I was fed up with having to carry CD's in the car buit wanted to have a unit that made more
