i recently purchased this amazing unit by Alpine from BassJunkies for just over £300. Its a fantastic unit that contains many different features hence the thick user guide that comes with the unit. The unit is fully customizable with the options of changing button colours, background movies, many diifferent preset factory equalisers aswell as manual setupus to customize the sound to your own personal liking.

I have only had the item about a week and i am loving every little detail and feature that it contains. The sound quality through my pioneer rear speakers is spot on as with the bulit in equalisers alows me to make the sound perfect. I previously had a sony but there is no comparison to my new unit.

I thought fitting of this would be a right pain however for £15 pounds i was able to match my car to the lead that come from the back of the unit to the leads that my previous head unit used. This allows the 2 connectors to slip into each other without cutting and having to match up the coloured wires.

The touch glide bar allows the user to quickly browse thorugh the many different songs that the MP3 unit can play. I recently had my car broken into so the deceiding factor of purchasing this unit was the detachable front panel.

The Alpine 9855r is IPOD ready however needs additional KCA-420i adaptor.

Other Features Include...
Downloadable custom settings for the head unit from Alpines i-Personalize website

MediaXpander to make your compressed music sound like CDs and comes with a nifty little remote for passengers to use.

Most of all the unit is extremelly fun to use with excellent sound quality and fully customizable. I reccomend this this unit to anyone after an in car MP3 player.

very informative! it has full specification of the item and also gives an excellent personal oppinion! although some items give full information regarding the item a personal point of view is what counts as the item has been tried and tested!

Where did you purchase it from? Can you get it cheaper from elsewhere? Is the thick user guide actually of any use? Is it concise and clear - illustrations etc? Also, a bit more detail on "every little detail and feature that it contains" - like what (i know you mentioned some, but a few more perhaps...) Then just final check the spelling and grammar (a tiny bit dodgy in places). Then you'll be sorted. Way better than the original though bud, glad i can help! anytime, ben
