This is the ultimate 'convenient' Headunit!
I bought this to fit in my XKR, to replace the frankly 'rubbish' std audio system (tuner, cassette and CD autochanger). I was fed up with having to carry CD's in the car buit wanted to have a unit that made navigating around the i-Pod as easy as on the unit itself. This is a very intuitive, easy to use unit, that is just as quick as the i-Pod thanks to a USB connector. The i-Pod resides in the gloivebox and can be disconnected and taken with you when you leave the car. The left side of the headunit fascia (up tpo and inclusing the jogwheel)also detatches, and is small enough to be put into its little protective bag (supplied) and slipped into your pocket when you get out the car. The sound quality is excellent, although this means I now want to upgrade the speakers in the car to take full advantage of it! Fuctionality is comprehensive and matches the i-Pod, and the display on the headunit if a full colour TFT unit, and can be a choice of a 'calendar + clock', small album art and track/artist description or large album art and the track name. This is the ideal unit for people with large music collections that they want to be able to enjoy in the car! It has none of the access problems of some other 'so-called' i-Pod compatible units, and is also really good value for money! Highly recommended and I DO NOT miss the CD slot!!!! The tuner and my 80Gb i-Pod is more than enough!!!!
