Advantages: High quality, well-priced, feature packed Disadvantages: Annoying power off button - that's it!!
...I bought the Alpine CTA-1502R Commander Tuner/Controller to replace a rather old Alpine Tuner/Tape head unit with CD Changer. Having had a very good experience with my previous Alpine head unit, the replacement had to be an Alpine. Since adding a CD changer to my old head unit, I'd stopped using cassettes because the difference in quality was unbelievable. I therefore didn't want to play tapes on my new unit. That's why I went for the 1502, since all it has built in is a tuner and amplifier. Anything else can be added on, like the CD changer which I bought at the asme time.
Since having the unit, about six months, it has worked perfectly. It has a very large display, since there are no openings for CDs, tapes etc. It uses the display for all of the usual info along with a spectrum analyser (flashing lights) which can be changed...

Advantages: Technical features, look, price/quality Disadvantages: Not always easy to use
...I bought this radio-cd player in april 2000. I've liked it from the start for it's original features and the active black panel. Though I'd like to warn everybody who's not really keen on a lot of menu's and title's, because adjusting all listening options is a rather difficult thing. You always have to pass through a pack of menu's. I strongly advise the buyer to install the optional joystick remote control, to make the use of this radio a little easier. If you don't use this joystick you'll always have to open the active black panel before being able to adjust volume/change track...
In my country (Belgium), a wireless remote control (card-form) is furnished at no extra cost. This is nice to use when you are standing still but should never be used when driving !
All together this is a good car stereo with excellent features and good...

Advantages: class looks and top sound, great security Disadvantages: expensive
...After my cassette tuner completely packed up on me in my car, I had take action and purchase a new one.
I was looking at spending around £150 on a cheapish CD tuner, no flashy disc changer, just a bog standard CD player.
A friend had one brand new boxed, and sold it to me at less than half the RRP, he had brought it for is car, but his car is a motability car for the disabled. Apparently they are not allowed to modify these cars in anyway and that includes putting in a stereo. Anyway I got a bargain!
I love it what can I say!
I only have 4 pretty bog standard speakers in the car, but the sounds that this player gives out are great.
It has a lot of functions, as well as the normal bass, treble changing, there are preset sounds. Rock, Pop, Jazz etc.
It has a clear crisp display, you can choose the colours red/green on illuminated display...
