After trying a few different sets of car speakers (each around the £70 mark) and being dissapointed I finnally decided to take the risk and purchase these high end alpine speakers. The included crossovers also carried on this quality feel. Once connected to the amplifier it was time to turn them on and i wasnt dissapointed. They obviously don't kick out lots of bass as they're only 13cm woofers but the quality was fantastic. All vocals were clear and full, and the midrange respones of the speakers were equally good. There was no distortion at higher volumes (within reason of course) and good cope with a wide range of music.
All in all i was very pleased with these speakers, although expensive (rrp £250, i got them for £150) i feel they were worth every penny and coupled with a decent amp and subwoofer reproduce music very well.
These speakers will handle large amounts of power and are more than willing to do so for long periods of time. They have rather punchy bass so I find that they work very well along side a sub and they have great midrange sound.
Quite weighty so if you're planning on installing them into a standard parcel shelf be prepared to stregthen it, better still would be to replace the shelf with a wooden one. (*)
