...than £10 to replace. The second Polo I owned was a 1.05 1991
mk3 Coupe in gray. This car cost £400, mainly because I bought it off my parent who
had owned it from new. The mk 3 has a much updated interior and servo assisted
brakes which make a very big difference. It managed to drive me to university and
back every day (a 50 mile round trip) for 2 years, although it did require a new
gearbox (£260 fitted with new clutch!!). My final 1.05 Polo is a mk2 1990 coupe that
I bought from a friend this month (August 2004), after writing off my Porsche, for
£150 because I needed cheap transport and fast!

Forget the stats, this car needs 3rd gear to hit 60mph and 2nd just about makes 45mph. So 0-60 is never going to be a strong point, however I have done some road tests with a friend owning an identical car to this albeit the 1.6 16v (110hp) petrol engine. And in 2nd and 3rd gear, the diesel is glued to the rear of the petrol. Move into 4th and the petrol starts to move away. But that's a 30bhp advantage...

The story centres on Josh Spiller, a long distance lorry driver. He has gone off in temper, on a driving job, after an argument with his... more
The Picture of Dorian Gray is by far one of the best books that I have ever read. I am a writer, and the clever use of words in this books astounds me, as well as the way that Oscar Wilde weaves description with emotions that every human being... more
