Advantages: ermm. argggg. ggggrrrrrrr. nope canna think of any, oh yeah, pretty colours.

...When Microsoft released Windows 95 it was a revelation, when Windows released Windows 98 it was, uh whats the point its exactly the same with different pictures. Now with Windows 98 Second Edition ppl are beginning to realise that MS think that there wasnt enough errors in W98 FE for ppl to be forced to upgrade. So they made an add-on to Win 98 which just forced more General Protection Errors out of your system than every before. Their aim to break the world record for the most number of computers crashed at one point in the entire world! This, they seemed to break. Then they released Win 2k, so soon after Win 98 SE they said, Microsofts reply:- "Uh, Windows 98 SE, whats that then, oh you mean that virus we put out, whoops"... Read review

Advantages: Not many!
Disadvantages: Not many programs run on it anymore, Old design...

...Years and years have past since the launch of Windows 98. At the time is was great; it was fast, 'good looks', easy to use, but time has changed since then, with the launch of Windows 2000 (ME) and, now, Windows XP. Prehaps the only reason you may choose to put Windows 98 onto your computer nowadays is either if you want a computer to run fast, or you can't be bothered to go out and buy a copy of XP for around £80. As I have just mentioned, 98 does run faster than XP, and you can't upgrade a computer with 98 on if it is too old, as Windows XP would take too long to load. Windows XP has many new features compared to 98, such as a completely new look, different files can run on it, and with SP2, it comes with a built in firewall, virus protection and automatic updates. Advantages: better enhancement
Disadvantages: slower

...Win 98 is good and give you better enhancement. Any new operating system is better than the older one. Although it has not full DOS like it was before 6.22 with it, but if you are using Win 98 you don't need that much of DOS. If you have a slower PC, it will not give you a better performance. The older Win 95 is faster because of not fully plug and play less driver database. Therefore, I will recommend you to get Win 98 instead of Win 95 even it is cheaper.... Read review
