Advantages: Value Disadvantages: Can Distort
...The PowerCube speakersystem is a 3-piece multimedia audio solution for your home or office personal computer that gives you power and performance at a tremendous value. Why settle for the limited output from a 2-piece system when you can step up to the powerful performance of the Altec Lansing PowerCube 3-piece system? I totally rate these speakers. I am glad that I have bought these. Altec Lansing have come up with a very good 3 piece set of speakers. At FULL volume there is very little distortion. However when you play with the bass and treble settings within Windows 98, it seems to a bit crazy (at high volumes). This is a great little speaker set, and I would reccomend them to a student, but I wouldn't mind something with even MORE power. Well Done Altec....

Advantages: Two midrange drivers in each satellite Disadvantages: N/A
...Whether it's greatly bowed cello or a screaming electric guitar musically sophisticated ears like yours demand full, accurate sound. Featuring a polished, silver light (I've used the piano-quality black one), the MX 5021 delivers big time in a powered audio system that not only sounds great, but looks terrific in your home or office. Two midrange drivers in each satellite produce extremely responsive sound, while the horn-loaded tweeter offers extra wide dispersion of those crystal-clear highs. Not to be out-done, the woofer pumps out deep lows you'll feel in your bones. Add in THX certification for cinema-quality sound, and you've got an excellent alternative to a high-end home audio system. Check Ciao.co.uk for Altec Lancing FX6021 [Altec Lansing FX6021 PCmultimediaspeakersystem] which gives similar output. According to my opinion...

Advantages: great sound quality, high volumes, durable Disadvantages: unclear set-up
...I got Altec Lansing speakers about 5 years ago with the first family PC we bought. Since then I have moved them to 5 other PCs and they are the best I've even had.
The set up is very easy, they work on any PC through the headphone plug although it is sometimes tricky to decide which cable connects the speakers to each other.
The sound can be as loud or quiet as you want. The quality is glorious stereo and it more than rivals any standard Hi-Fi.
If you pick Altec Lansing you've picked a winner!...

I'm reviewing the Logitech X-530 speaker set, which is a 5.1 Surround Sound speaker set for your computer. The X-530 consists of a set of five small speakers, known as 'satellites', and subwoofer, which is the larger unit that produces the bass. This is... more
I bought these speakers about a week ago from ebuyer.com for £57 (the OEM version), and am so far very impressed. I used to own a cheap set of 5.1 speakers, so upgrading to 7.1 seemed a good idea. It's useful to note that most films are only 5.1 so not... more
After having a cheap Creative 5.1 sound system for a few years I decided to replace it with a better system. I did some research and most places pointed to this being the best 5.1 set up for a PC that was available. I found a good deal and bought it... more
