Advantages: There are many advantages to the Altec Lansing 220. For instance they are very convienent and easy to use.
Disadvantages: I have been using the Altec Lansing 220, for a good six months know. I have not come across any disadvantages.

...The Altec Lansing 220 are a pair of speakers that work together. They are both easy to use and easy to install. The convience of the volume control position is better then any. No more searching for the volume control on your desktop. Just reach out and turn it. The convience of head phones is also incredible. You can plug you headphones into the side of the speaker instead of having to reach to the back of your computer. It's all right there is arms reach. The Altec Lansing 220 speakers are small and packed with sound. They are very affordable and I would recomend them to anyone who is looking for sound at a good price. If you are someone who likes to watch movies or listen to music from your computer then these speakers are made for you.... Read review

Advantages: Cheap..
Disadvantages: ..and not that great!

...Judging the packaging alone, the Altec Lansing AHS-502 appears to be an impressive and expensive headset. When in reality it costs a mere £19.95 (including VAT) - the deception goes no further than that though. While it's a big ole set of cans, the quality of the build feels somewhat flimsy. The huge size definitely works against it - although the closed cup design keeps in sound and external noise out, your ears start to sweat after only a few minutes of use. Not at all pleasant. The microphone is attached to the left earpiece by what is essentially a flexible piece of plastic. This can be moved into any position for optimal placement, but the cable doesn't follow the plastic very well, which gives a pretty messy look. Microphone recording quality was a saving grace overall, as my voice was picked up loud and clear above... Read review
