First think that was apparent when i opened the box was the bose look they had about them, they definately made a good impression on me. When i found that the top speakers are disconnectable so that they can be placed anwhere around the room offering surround sound expanding from 2.1 to 4.1 sound which was a great idea on altec's part.
But what good is this if they don't sound any? They do though, and not just good but crystal clear, they don't fuzz at high volume or crackle with high pitch sound which can be really annoying, and they have a peak power of 15W which will definately fill a room and be heard all around the house!. On the right speaker base is the control panel, where the volume, bass, treble and mode is controlable a very handy tool with a clear screen and an on/off switch so you dont have to strugle to the sub-woofer to switch it off like you do on most.
The sub-woofer, packs a mean punch, very powerful giving 60W of power which will help you feel your music not only hear it. The bass it warm with out rattle, due to the large air-intake hole, overall the system offers superb sound on many levels at both low and high frequencies. Whats more is its THX certified, which is just a standard, that is only reavhed by the best performing speakers after rigorous testing, so where are you going to go wrong?
